Get the Look: Rachel Bilson in French Connection

Once upon a time, Rachel Bilson was the "It" Girl of The O.C. as Summer Roberts. While I'm still a little envious she frolicked around with Adam Brody on- and off-screen, I've grown to really respect her for her role in various fashion-related ventures.

Rachel has had her fair share of exposure in the fashion community, rooting from her always chic and sophisticated personal style. Her collaboration with DKNY resulted in the Edie Rose clothing line and home collection, and I always love reading her advice column for InStyle. She currently appears in an advertising campaign for Magnum ice cream, directed by the one and only Karl Lagerfeld — you can't get much bigger than that.

In 2010, Rachel was announced as the style director of Sunglass Hut, and it seems plans for this partnership have gotten even bigger. WWD reported this week that Rachel's role is now global, extending to the U.K., China, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, China and the Philippines. This worldwide push for the brand will include in-store imagery featuring Ms. Bilson, as well as the re-launch of her Sunglass Hut blog.

WWD shared a sneak-peek at the ads, in which Rachel dons French Connection's Anna Lace Dress, sheer tights and Brian Atwood booties.


Although this look is perfect for fall, it can also be modified to work for summertime.





I love the idea of contrasting the lace dress ($69, Asos) with these leather gladiator sandals ($70, Steve Madden), a skinny black belt ($105, Rag and Bone) and this House of Harlow statement necklace to top it all off ($75, Akira). The result is an adorable "It" Girl ensemble that blends one of my favorite combinations, lace + leather.
