Fashion with Miss Piggy

Monday, November 21, 2011
As a child, I loved Miss Piggy. Reflecting upon it now, I realize she was one of my first "It" Girls. It makes sense, as we actually have a few similarities — both a little bossy and both slight drama queens. (But as she once stated, "I am not a diva. I am the diva.") Above all else, we are both fashion-obsessed.

Although her style has been noted for years, Miss Piggy's influence recently within the fashion industry has been ubiquitous. Not only has she been fashionable (but of course), she has collaborated with some of the biggest designers and brands in the industry. Here are some highlights of Piggy's presence in the world of fashion:

She attended Fashion’s Night Out in support of Opening Ceremony...

And is part of their Muppets collection of shirts and sweaters.

Marc Jacobs gave her a look at his SoHo showroom — and outfitted her in Marc Jacobs, naturally.

A photoshoot for InStyle's November issue featured Miss Piggy decked out in everything from Jason Wu to Prabal Gurung. "Style is about expressing your inner self, capturing your personal ethos, and, most importantly, spending someone else’s money,” Miss Piggy shared with the magazine.

MAC developed a Miss Piggy collection, including eyeshadow, eye liner and lashes.
 MAC Cosmetics

She is part of not one, but two OPI nail polish collections, including her own assortment of colors appropriately titled, "Simply Moi."

Shoe designer Jerome Rousseau developed a heel inspired by Miss Piggy. The Diva Glitter Pump, retailing at $595, will be available at Sak's in January.

With The Muppets release only a few days away, moi is most looking forward to seeing Miss Piggy take on the role of editor of Vogue Paris. Fitting!
