London Calling

Friday, July 27, 2012
The 2012 Summer Olympic Games, aka London 2012, kicks off tomorrow. While I might be Team USA, I can certainly appreciate the awesomeness of the host city. There are countless reasons to love England: Glastonbury, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, The Beatles and, of course, hot men with amazing accents.

In honor of the Olympics kick-off, I wanted to showcase some of my favorite "It" Girls to come out of the UK.

Anne's Purrfect Selina Kyle

Tuesday, July 24, 2012
I vividly remember watching Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman in Batman Returns in second gradeI may have been in elementary school, but even then, Catwoman seemed so cool in my book. What can I say, I am a fan of a great villain, especially one that appreciates jewelry as much as I do.

When it was announced Anne Hathaway would be taking on the role of Selina Kyle in The Dark Knight Rises, the final installment in Christopher Nolan's trilogy, many were a bit skeptical. Although Anne is a talented actress, could she really pull off the role?

"It" Girl Infatuation: Bing Bang Jewelry

Tuesday, July 17, 2012
If you are anything like me, you get really excited when you discover something new. Even if it's not "new," the feeling of uncovering what feels like a hidden treasure can be thrilling and turn into a total obsession. This typically happens for me with music, movies and, of course, designers.

I first discovered the Bing Bang brand when it was featured on BaubleBar. The name alone caught my eye, but then I saw it — skulls. Lots of skulls. Those who are closest to me know I have a slight obsession with skulls (and may even have a tattoo of a skull...), so I was immediately enamored. I purchased the Eternity Skull Ring in Silver, and was even more pleased with it when it arrived. I love the juxtaposition of edginess from an entire band made up of skulls, yet it feels delicate. I find this to be true for the brand overall: it presents a successful balance of femininity while each piece is completely bad ass.

Nail It

Wednesday, July 11, 2012
An outfit isn't complete without the proper pieces to tie it all together, whether it's a pair of shades or a stack of bracelets. One of these finishing touches I can never leave the house without is actually one of the least expensive, but most effective: painted nails. While a small touch, it can really complete a look (and be a great conversation piece).

Taking a cue from some of my "It" Girls, I've compiled a few of my recommendations for rocking the right shades this summer and beyond.

Chicago "It" Girl: Flavia Robinson

Sunday, July 1, 2012
I typically focus my posts on "It" Girls of Hollywood, but the fact is, not every "It" Girl has a recording contract, stars alongside Ryan Gosling or graces the pages of Vogue. With this in mind, I'd like to spotlight an "It" Girl in my own backyard, Flavia Robinson.
