What A Hoot!

Wednesday, September 12, 2012
For some reason, owls have always fascinated me. It has been said they represent wisdom, intuition, mystery and even magic among the Native American culture. Additionally, the symbol of Athena, Greek goddess of wisdom, courage, strength and skill, was an owl.

It's no wonder these feathered friends were all over Christopher Bailey's Fall 2012 Burberry Prorsum collection, from charming screen printed tees to embellished sweaters.

"It" Girl Elizabeth Olsen also donned one of the tees (and looked fabulous) in her spread for Glamour's September issue.

Not only do I adore this collection, I recently learned my spirit animal is an owl. Who knew! Taking all of this into consideration, it's fair to say this is a trend I am "hoot" (terrible pun) on. These tops are a must-have for the autumn season, and are perfect for layering with cozy knits and leather. You can visit Burberry to check out all of the tees and sweaters available.

But the trend hasn't stopped with Burberry, as other designers are also showing some love for these birds. For example, graphic-embellishing guru Markus Lupfer put his spin on the owl tee with this adorable sequined number.

Another fun owl piece I recently spotted is Pippo Perez's Tiny Pink Sapphire Owl Bracelet, which would make the perfect addition to a set of arm candy.

Will you be mixing some owl pieces into your wardrobe this fall?
