Jennifer Lawrence: Girl on Fire

Tuesday, March 27, 2012
Two words have been on seemingly everyone's lips during the past few weeks: Hunger. Games. I, too, have gone giddy over the "Games," although completely went about it backward (movie first, books second). So typical.

The movie made its debut in theaters last Friday, and quickly broke box office records. It's no surprise — a post-apocalyptic story dripping with action, drama and a little bit of romance, featuring a protagonist that is fiercely independent, strong and intelligent. Take that, Bella Swan.

I found the casting of the movie to be great, but "The Hunger Games" officially made me fall in love with my "It" Girl du jour, Jennifer Lawrence, who plays Katniss Everdeen. Jennifer has been acting for a few years now, but first caught my eye as Mystique in last summer's "X-Men: First Class." Fun fact: Jennifer finished high school two years early and moved to New York City to pursue an acting career, for which she did not have any professional training.

Upon watching her frenzy of recent media appearances, I realized not only is Jennifer beautiful and talented, she is down-to-earth, authentic and absolutely hilarious. Don't believe me? Check out her interview with David Letterman, in which she calls herself a "troll."

This girl knows how to warm my heart.

Jennifer is slated to appear in at least five more films between 2012 and 2013, and considering the success of "The Hunger Games," I have no doubt there will only be more of this "It" Girl on our screens and magazine covers.

Below I've included some of my favorite pictures from worldwide premieres of "The Hunger Games." While I love her candid style, I think she has been rocking the red carpets in dresses from A-list designers such as Prabal Gurung, Tom Ford and Victoria Beckham.

My Fair Lady

Tuesday, March 6, 2012
Mondays usually hurt a little. But on this particular Monday, I instantly perked up when I learned "It" Girl Mila Kunis was Harper's Bazaar's April cover girl.

A fair theme sprinkled with carousels, cotton candy and balloons somehow blends perfectly with designer duds by McQueen, Chanel and YSL (just to name a few) in the photoshoot by Terry Richardson.

In the interview, titled "The Good Bad Girl," Mila shares her favorite fashion icons of the past and present, what it's like to be single for the first time in eight years and if she is comfortable being a sex symbol. (Hint, the answer is "no.")

Check out the fabulously fun photos below, and visit Harper's Bazaar's Facebook page for a behind-the-scenes video of the shoot. Yours truly will be anxiously eyeing the shelves until I get this one in my hands!
