Mondays usually hurt a little. But on this particular Monday, I instantly perked up when I learned "It" Girl Mila Kunis was Harper's Bazaar's April cover girl.

A fair theme sprinkled with carousels, cotton candy and balloons somehow blends perfectly with designer duds by McQueen, Chanel and YSL (just to name a few) in the photoshoot by Terry Richardson.

In the interview, titled "The Good Bad Girl," Mila shares her favorite fashion icons of the past and present, what it's like to be single for the first time in eight years and if she is comfortable being a sex symbol. (Hint, the answer is "no.")

15 Major "Gossip Girl" Looks

Since its debut in 2007, I have been absolutely hooked on "Gossip Girl." Between the break-ups, hook-ups and WTFs every week, it manages to enthrall and enrage me at the same time. It is so magical.

To say "Gossip Girl" is known for fashion is an understatement. The wardrobe does more than induce drooling — it is integrated into the story lines as much as outlandish scandals and whimsical one-liners. Each piece tells a story, in addition to reflecting the character wearing it.

From more modest beginnings of bow-embellished headbands and sequined cardigans as prep school uniform accessories, the show's "It" Girls, Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) and Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively), have transformed into the definition of glamour, sophistication and chic. Labels such as Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Valentino and Oscar de la Renta are regularly incorporated into the ladies' outfits, making for some spectacular fashion moments. Blair's style represents pure classic elegance, while Serena embodies modern boho with a hint of rocker edge.

It is usually easy for me to claim favorites. (Favorite superhero? Wonder Woman. Favorite member of Big Time Rush? James. You get the picture.) But when it comes to choosing my top looks from the show, it is near painful to choose from more than four and a half seasons of amazing looks.

In life, I believe in the saying, "Go big or go home." In fashion, I believe in a twist on that motto: "Go bold or go home." But wait! Before you think I am emptying my closet by throwing all of my black clothes out the window (never that), let me clarify. Two of my favorite trends coming out of Resort 2012 and Spring 2012 were bold, bright and anything but black — color blocking and neons.

When you hear the word "neon," you may automatically think of the '80s. But as designers such as Diane von Furstenberg and Oscar de la Renta have taught us, this revamped trend is fresh and anything but tacky. "It" Girls such as Blake Lively and Emma Stone have already worked this trend, and I expect more will in the near future.

5 Vogue Cover Candidates

With all due respect to Anna Wintour, I could not help but give the side-eye when I saw Vogue's February cover girl. All personal preferences aside, I struggled to see what about Taylor Swift fits the Vogue bill. While it is true that the U.S. version of the magazine is much more commercial and celebrity-focused than its European counterparts, and long gone are the days of Cindy, Niki and Naomi as the magazine's prime stars, I could not help but brainstorm which "It" Girls I think are worthy of an upcoming spotlight.

Following are my starlet picks for this year's Vogue covers. They are gorgeous, they are fashion-forward and, of course, they have "It." Shockingly, none of these ladies have landed a cover — yet. (Anna, are you listening?)

Do I need an explanation for this one? It is crystal clear I am a huge Mila fan, but her new campaign representing Dior Spring/Summer 2012 is yet another reason to give her a Vogue spotlight. Très chic.

Elizabeth Olsen

I think Lizzie is likely the biggest "It" Girl to watch in 2012. She received a great deal of recognition for her role in Martha Marcy May Marlene last year, even scoring the New Generation Award at the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards last weekend. On the fashion front, she once said it makes her "nervous," but considering her undeniable ability to pull off Chanel, Alexander McQueen and Proenza Schouler (as seen above) on the red carpet, it is only a matter of time before she is scooped up as a designer's muse.

Rachel is hands-down one of my favorites when it comes to fashion inspiration. She nails it every time she makes an event appearance, and her street style is impeccable. In the past year, she worked with Karl Lagerfeld on advertisements for Magnum ice cream, launched ShoeMint and became a guest editor for Piperlime and style director for Sunglass Hut. It only seems fitting that an "It" Girl who is so passionate about and influential in womenswear receives the honor of a cover.

Oh, Emma. I can't get enough of this girl. I am drawn to her because of her talent, but her charm also makes her a standout. She is often on the Best Dressed lists, and her Lanvin gown was one of the few that received my personal stamp of approval at this year's Golden Globes. Emma also rocked Lanvin at a pre-Golden Globes W Magazine par ty, a premiere of The Help a few months ago and last year's British Academy Film Awards. Hmm...do I smell a partnership on the horizon? Let's also not forget Emma has three movies slated for a 2012 release, so we can expect a lot of red carpet looks this year. Hopefully, a Vogue cover is also on the list!

Blair Waldorf is easily one of the best characters on television. But Leighton herself also has the "It" factor and a sense of style just as enviable as Blair's. While I often rave about Blake Lively, she has scored two Vogue covers. I would love to see how the editors would style Leighton as their cover girl in the near future.

Much to my dismay, winter has officially hit Chicago. (Yes, I am aware that it is the middle of January, but can't a girl dream that the harsh season will bypass the Midwest this year?) Thankfully, with my "It" Girls, there is always a little bit of sunshine.

In this round-up, I'm giving props for cupcakes, color choices and a certain Royal with a birthday two days after mine.

It's no secret I'm mildly obsessed with Blake Lively. A couple of weeks ago, she unveiled the cupcake she developed with gourmet cupcake shop, Sprinkles. The S'more cupcake, which is available now until February 2, features graham cracker-lined Belgian dark chocolate cake filled with bittersweet chocolate ganache and is topped with toasted marshmallow frosting. In an "It" List from the summer, I referenced Emma Stone's excellent use of hot pink on two separate occasions during one week. This week, she rocked bold, emerald green at the People's Choice Awards and the Critics' Choice Movie Awards. Clearly, this "It" Girl knows when something works, you go with it. I think this is a fantastic color in general, and on Ms. Stone, it is simply delightful.

30 Champagne Clicks for Kate

Her style has been called boring, simple or just plain "eh." But, in my opinion, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge can teach us a thing or two. She has been blasted for repeating pieces on multiple occasions, but I find it rather refreshing. I wouldn't mind seeing her take some riskier fashion choices in 2012, but what I will say is that she always looks effortless, and reminds us that sophistication is always in style. As she turned 30 this week, my fellow Capricorn will have a busy year ahead filled with charity work and general Duchess fabulousness. Cheers, Kate!

Music For An "It" Girl's Soul: Lana Del Rey

I am a music junkie. But, like I am in declaring my "It" Girls, I tend to be selective with the artists who receive heaviest rotation on my iPod. Imagine my delight when an artist comes along to not only capture my ear, but an "It" Girl title, as well.

Spellbinding and soulful, Lana Del Rey has been dubbed "Nicki Minaj in Lana Turner's body" by The Guardian and the "gangsta Nancy Sinatra" by herself. New fans may not be aware that she released an EP under the name Lizzy Grant in 2010, yet the buzz surrounding the songstress, who was born in New York City, grew up in Lake Placid and now lives in London, seemingly came out of nowhere this year. Many would credit her breakout tune "Video Games" as a star-making moment, catapulted by being featured on the CW's Gossip Girl and Ringer.

"Video Games" is certainly a brilliant song, and Lana only made me fall more in love with the release of the second single and title track of her debut studio album (released worldwide on January 31), "Born To Die." The white Antonio Berardi dress and flower crown she wears while sitting in a throne next to two tigers solidified her cool factor in my book.

As my "It" Girls often do, Lana also has a tie with fashion — Christopher Kane and Emilio de la Morena chose her music to accompany their spring/summer 2012 shows. Regarding her personal style, she told Vogue UK her labels of preference include Chanel and Versace, and she calls her individual look "Ghetto Monégasque."

2011 has been a dazzling year for Ms. Del Rey, only enhanced by the fact that her first show in the UK sold out in 13 minutes and she has been hot among press (as a sampling, Rolling Stone, Complex, NME and W Magazine have featured her). Proving her star is only beginning to shine, Vogue UK included her in their 2012 Hot List and she is slated to be the musical guest on the January 14 episode of Saturday Night Live.

I can't wait to get my hands on the "Born To Die" album and watch this "It" Girl blossom in the forthcoming year.

An "It" Girl's Gratitude

Thanksgiving is over. Actually, it was two weeks ago. But an "It" Girl knows that, while Turkey Day is a great reminder to count her blessings, it is crucial to be thankful year round. As such, I wanted to pay homage to a few of the things in the "It" Girl realm that I am most appreciative for this year.

"It" Girl of the Year? Absolutely. Hot on the heels of 2010's Black Swan, Ms. Kunis' star shone even brighter in 2011. She appeared in one of my favorite movies of the year, Friends with Benefits, was the cover girl for Cosmopolitan, Elle, Glamour UK, Los Angeles Confidential, Los Angeles Times Magazine and W Magazine and was named "The Knockout" in GQ's annual Men of the Year issue. I love her more with each project, and she is definitely one of the reasons I started this blog to begin with. Thanks for being you, Mila.

Their selections never cease to impress me, and I am constantly inspired by their featured lookbooks. One of my favorite features of Shopbop is the free three-day shipping. In a world of crazy-expensive shipping rates and packages that take seemingly eons to arrive, this feature is a godsend. And, did I mention they have a killer blog covering everything from runway to style tips? I love you, Shopbop. Never change.

J Brand Denim

Look, it's okay to be economical about some things. However, denim should not be one of them. Jeans are the MVP of an "It" Girl's wardrobe and can be worn for just about any look — dressy, casual and everything in between. That is why it is important to invest in pairs that truly fit your body type and make you feel confident.

My favorite pair of jeans I purchased this year (yep, from Shopbop) were J Brand's 901 leggings in Vox. The minute I put them on, I realized every pair of jeans I owned before were invalid. The brand's focus is on fit and it shows. I also love that they do not emphasize adornments or trimming, which can take away from the look of the jean. With so many fits and fabrics, there certainly is a style for any "It" Girl. I'm currently obsessed with their line of colored denim and would be even more thankful to own a pair in every color.

People deal with stress in different ways. One way I like to manage my bad moods is to pull up photos of Louboutins. Some may find that strange, but I'm confident the "It" Girls of the world understand. The styles, shapes and silhouettes of Christian Louboutin's footwear instantly put a smile on my face. Truly, these gems are the epitome of beautiful luxury footwear. Mr. Louboutin, I thank you. So do my feet.

Victoria's Secret "It" Girl: Erin Heatherton

There is one event every year that both thrills and depresses me. That event is the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, a parade of long, wind-blown hair, six inch stilettos, enormous wings and tiny lingerie. Although watching the Angels strut across the runway can be slightly intimidating, the show also provides elements of of fantasy and fun, backed by killer music.

The Angels have changed through the years, but the crop at the 2011 show included a few of my favorites: Miranda Kerr, Adriana Lima and Erin Heatherton.

The first time I spotted Erin, I knew she had "It," and I clearly wasn't the only one. She was discovered while simply enjoying a vacation in South Beach. Her first major show was for the amazing Diane von Furstenberg during Fashion Week in September 2006, and she later represented Oscar de la Renta, Marc Jacobs, Zac Posen and Elie Saab, among a slew of other A-list designers. She has walked in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show since 2008, and definitely rocked it out this year.

I personally give her bonus points for having freckles, being a Midwest girl (she is originally from Skokie, Illinois) and describing her personal style as "girlie with a bit of an edge" (hello, that is me). Possibly coolest of all, she has a French bulldog!

As a child, I loved Miss Piggy. Reflecting upon it now, I realize she was one of my first "It" Girls. It makes sense, as we actually have a few similarities — both a little bossy and both slight drama queens. (But as she once stated, "I am not a diva. I am the diva.") Above all else, we are both fashion-obsessed.

Although her style has been noted for years, Miss Piggy's influence recently within the fashion industry has been ubiquitous. Not only has she been fashionable (but of course), she has collaborated with some of the biggest designers and brands in the industry. Mary-Kate & Ashley Cover Vogue's Best Dressed Issue

From dolls and direct-to-video movies to a $1 billion empire, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have become more than pop culture icons — they can also be credited as extremely savvy businesswomen.

Arguably the most popular twins on the planet, these sisters are powerhouses that clearly cannot be stopped. Their imprint in particular within the fashion industry has resulted in a handful of clothing labels: The Row, Elizabeth and James (who also has one of my favorite Twitter accounts), Textile Elizabeth and James & Olsenboye, as well as the StyleMint line. Their successes even earned them a nomination for Swarovski Award for Womenswear at the 2011 Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Awards. (Check out this great article published a few months ago by Newsweek to learn more about their rise to fashion mogul-dom.)

As fashion megastars, it is slightly surprising that the girls had never landed a cover of Vogue. Thankfully, Ms. Wintour changed this by placing the girls on the cover of the Best Dressed issue, out on newsstands tomorrow (November 15).

Their infamous personal style receives swoons and critiques alike from the public. Ashley, recognized for her classic, sophisticated and polished looks, often contrasts her sister's style, as Mary-Kate often chooses edgier, eccentric pieces. Personally, I find them both to be two of the greatest style icons in Hollywood and always look forward to their street and red carpet looks.

Wild Whimsy

Looking at my closet, it is evident that I am a huge fan of black. As my wardrobe matures, I am finding myself more drawn to printed pieces, especially anything with a little charm. Lately, I have been inspired by the whimsical animal designs my "It" Girls have been sporting.

Novelty sweaters seemed to come back in a big way a couple of years ago, but the have seen an even more significant resurgence as major designers continue to incorporate this '80s-style trend into their collections. Now, all sorts of critters are making appearances on the runway.

Victoria Beckham was recently spotted with "It" Girl-in-the-making baby Harper in a Patch Pocket Tunic from her Spring/Summer 2012 collection. I am obsessed with the cat print!

Rachel Bilson also recently wore this swan cardigan from Topshop.

While this trend may be a bit polarizing, I think, paired with the right ensemble, these can definitely add spark to the "It" Girl's fall wardrobe. Below are just a few finds utilizing some fun animal prints, from simple to sequined.

An Ode To My "It" Boy

A true "It" Girl holds her own — she naturally shines and stands out. But the very lucky "It" Girls have a partner in crime. That person for her to have adventures with and provide support in both the good times and the bad (such as a bad breakup or not finding the right pair of Louboutins).

This post is a little different and a bit more personal than those I have written in the past, but I feel as though my very own "It" Boy deserves his own spotlight because truly, he is the epitome of "It." If you are lucky enough to have met Aaron (aka The Ralphnerd), you already know he is extraordinary. But if you have not been so fortunate, allow me a few minutes to brag about him.

He is genuine, incredibly generous and extremely intelligent. A few of his fortes include knowing just the right thing to cause outbursts of laughter, comics (especially those that are Marvel-based), quoting The Great Mouse Detective (seriously, the most underrated Disney movie EVER) and menswear. In fact, his blog chronicles news, trends and tips for the often neglected genre of men's fashion. I can tell you for certain he is the most stylish guy in Chicago, and when we visited New York City this summer, I counted seven(!) compliments he received regarding his style within just a handful of hours.

This "It" Girl has experienced a lot of personal growth this year, much of which was propelled by my "It" Boy. He has been my rock, my very own stylist (saving me from numerous fashion meltdowns) and the absolute best shoulder to lean on. What's more, he has taught me something extremely important, and something every "It" Girl needs to remember: no matter how many people surround her, no matter how much designer fills her closet and no matter how often she is able to jet set across the globe, having a true best friend by her side is invaluable.

My prediction for my "It" Boy is that his bold ambition and creativity will lead him to run some facet of the menswear fashion industry within a few years. (As a side job, he will style Ryan Gosling, introduce us and inevitably be the Best Man in our wedding in 2015.) But no matter where he ends up, I know he will be successful, and I feel very lucky that I will be there beside him through the process.

Blake Makes Pumpkin Picking Glamorous

Autumn signifies sporting scarves, boots to tread through the falling leaves and Pumpkin Spice Latte runs. But if you're an "It" Girl of Blake Lively's caliber, every task looks chic.

Blake was spotted NYC picking up a pumpkin, hailing a taxi and looking incredibly stylish in Rag & Bone jeans, Theodora & Callum Clouded Leopard espadrilles and, of course, a Chanel bag.

A New Olsen in Town

She is enrolled at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, has a clothing line named after her, was photographed by Karl Lagerfeld for a coffee table book and her older sisters are pretty well-known, well...across the globe. Taking all of this into consideration, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Olsen certainly has a charmed life.

But just because her big sisters are incredibly successful (and recognizable) does not mean Elizabeth's success is purely through association — she traveled on her own path to stardom. She has been quoted as saying, "If I asked them, they would have [gotten me into the business]. But I wanted to do it without asking for the favor."

And put in the work, she has. In addition to studying acting at Tish, 22-year-old Elizabeth is also a student of New York's Atlantic Theater Company. Her recent surge in popularity stems from her role in the haunting drama Martha Marcy May Marlene, an independent film about a damaged woman struggling to reassimilate with her family after fleeing an abusive cult. The movie received rave reviews at Cannes and Sundance, and is slated for a limited U.S. release at the end of the month.

With no signs of stopping, Elizabeth currently covers the October issue of Nylon magazine, is featured in this month's GQ and has five (!) more films set for release between now and 2013.

It is evident Elizabeth has "it," and I look forward to watching her star grow in the coming years.

With the introduction of Bravo's The Rachel Zoe Project, we were given an insight into Rachel's life of styling, running businesses and owning an insane closet. Between the catchphrases and attention focused on her client roster, it could be easy to forget about Rachel's personal style.

She once described it to the Huffington Post: "My personal style is definitely grounded in '60s and '70s ... I love the glam bohemian thing, the music from the '60s and the '70s, everything about the women in this era: Marianne Faithful, Bianca Jagger, Edie Sedgwick, Brigitte Bardot, Ali McGraw, the women of Halston and Yves Saint Laurent — there are so many. One of the great things about "It" Girls is that they are key indicators of trends. If she wears it, you know it's hot. One trend I've noticed in recent months is a color I admittedly don't gravitate toward often — orange. I never had a personal vendetta against the color (although it was one of my high school colors...), but my closet is definitely lacking the hue.

That's about to change, because the "It" Girls are proving that orange is on fire with red carpet dresses, wardrobe staples and accessories.

I have an infatuation. And it's with braids. The trend is not a new one and I can't quite trace the root of my love for the interwoven style, but I remember Lauren Conrad rocking the heck out of them during her days on The Hills.

While Lauren certainly didn't invent the braid, I do think she helped catapult it into popularity, between french braids, side braids, braid headbands and braided up-dos. And, no matter the cut, color or style, the girl always has flawless hair.

"It" Girls from coast to coast continue to rock the style from red carpets to coffee runs and the result is always a pretty yet seemingly effortless look.

No, I'm not talking about the fabulous documentary that provides insight as to what it's like to be — and work for — Anna Wintour. But as per the film, the September issue of magazines are often the biggest of the year, including the most advertisements and igniting excitement for the shifting seasons via super-sized fashion features.

After scouring all of the September cover girls this year, I was slightly disappointed to discover some key "It" Girls unrepresented. This could largely be due to the fact that they covered these same outlets earlier in the year. "It" Girls of Superhero Movies

I've admired Wonder Woman since I was a little girl. Although I wasn't an avid follower, I remember seeing her in various forms of media, in awe of her amazing ability to kick ass and have awesome accessories.

Superheroes have been in existence for decades, and spawned a slew of accompanying movies that often hit theaters during summertime. From Thor to Captain America, the genre has certainly been dominating the box office this summer. And there's more to come, with The Avengers, The Amazing Spider-Man and The Dark Knight Rises set to be released in 2012.

Naturally, "It" Girls have been tapped to play major roles in some of the biggest films. While the majority of the leading ladies are not superheroes themselves (boooo!), they fill the always essential role of the love interest, dealing with all of the burdens that come along with falling for a man who is busy fighting evil and trying to save the world. Even if the movie is not up to par (I am looking at you, Green Lantern), it is always nice to see one of the "It" Girls shining.

There are a lot of characters and storylines to take in, but thankfully, my bestie happens to be a comic book and Marvel connoisseur, so I'm all set. And, with his help, I was exposed to every superhero movie that hit theaters this summer.

The life of an "It" Girl primarily consists of red carpets, event appearances, talk shows and, in between it all, stocking her closet full of Louboutins and Chloé handbags. With such a busy schedule, it seems difficult to maintain relationships, let alone have a family. However, quite a few starlets have proven that they can juggle stardom with mommyhood.

There has been a definite baby boom in Hollywood, with headline news about pregnancies blowing up on Twitter seemingly daily. But, as the "It" Girls below demonstrate, becoming a mom does not mean the loss of their sense of charm, style and "It" factor.

It is officially August, and I'm left pondering where the summer has gone. But it's still scorching outside, and my "It" Girls are serving up the heat, as usual, too.

Below I've captured what's hot among a select few "It" Girls right now:

Mila Kunis' Lanvin Pumps
Mila always seems to nail it, and her Louis Vuitton dress at the premiere of Friends with Benefits in Moscow was lovely. But those Lanvin python pumps from the Spring 2011 collection really set me off. Gorgeous!

Karlie Kloss' Gucci Dress
I'm not ordinarily the biggest Gucci fan, but their Fall 2011 collection included some beautiful pieces. One of the highlights from the collection is this dress, modeled flawlessly by Karlie Kloss on the cover of Harper's Bazaar Australia's September cover.

Ob-sessed with this hair style. Nicole rocked this french side-braid at the Ella Moss 10 Year Anniversary Celebration and had me desperately wishing I was talented enough to do it to my own hair.

5 Reasons Clarissa Darling Rocks

It may be 2011, but the 1990s are currently amidst a resurgence. Clueless recently turned sweet 16 and Mark-Paul Gosselaar & Breckin Meyer (aka Zack Morris & Travis Birkenstock) currently star on TNT's breakout legal dramedy, Franklin & Bash.

But every '90s kid clutched their slap bracelets when Nickelodeon announced the return of their classic programming on TeenNick. Airing favorites such as All That, Clarissa Explains It All, Doug, Hey Arnold! and Kenan & Kel, they dubbed the comeback as "The '90s Are All That" and warmed the heart of any kid who watched the Nickelodeon classics when they originally aired. It's no surprise the first night of programming smashed ratings and is all the buzz on social media networks.

Before the Clueless girls stole my heart, there was Clarissa Darling. From 1st through 4th grade, I yearned to be Clarissa. And, looking back at her now, I realize why.

Following are five reasons why I think Clarissa Darling rocks, and is officially ushered into the "It" Girl Hall of Fame:

5) She was fearless. No matter what challenge she encountered — disputing the typical, lame attire for school picture day, getting a car with no money and constantly dealing with Ferg-Face — she was never afraid to take risks.

4) I still aspire to have an entire apartment as cool as her bedroom. Hub caps, a flamingo-shaped jewelry holder, multi-colored walls AND a pet baby caiman named Elvis? I don't ever recall being so envious of a TV character's living space. While surely my aesthetic is a bit more mature now, I can appreciate the quirkiness and fun behind it.

3) She had an awesome best friend. Okay, so he climbed into her window on a ladder. That might be a bit creepy in today's world, but in Clarissa's world, who cares! Sam was laid-back, optimistic and dependable; a true friend, who could always be counted on to help Clarissa through situations by asking, "What's the worst that can happen?" To top it all off, his entrance was always cued by a guitar riff.

2) The video games. One of my absolute favorite elements of the show was when Clarissa created computer-generated games based on her own situations. She programmed them, inserted herself and any other relevant characters into the mix and played away on her trusty computer. The fact that she could program these herself showed a bit of a geeky side, and made her even cooler.

1) Her style knocked Blossom and Lisa Turtle out of the park. Clarissa's style in one word: anarchy. Mixed prints, textures and themes made her fashion sense girly, grungy and totally eccentric. She made even the most basic pieces outstanding, and it never seemed contrived. As it worked for her then, it can still be referenced as inspiration.

Mila Kunis Insists She's No "It" Girl, Further Proves She Is

It's no secret I adore Mila Kunis. And, as time goes on, she only gives me more reasons to love her.

Friends with Benefits opens this weekend, and naturally, Mila has been promoting, promoting, promoting. Photoshoots, interviews and TV appearances have ensured she is ubiquitous. Many topics have been on the table, from the Marine Corps Ball (to which she confirmed, "I accepted an invitation and I'm staying true to my word") to her love for Jersey Shore, which she admitted is set up on her TiVo.

And, ironically enough, she recently spoke to reporter Cindy Pearlman about why the "It" Girl label does not fit her, and that she doesn't view herself as a public figure who "exudes a certain amount of sexuality or whatever it may be that men just completely fumble over."

Really, Mila?

But it's that modesty that makes Mila Kunis all the more of an "It" Girl. Beauty aside, she is no pretense, no ego and, to be frank, no bullshit. Her unassuming nature and candidness make her all the more special, particularly in Hollywood, which tends to be filled with an affected and self-absorbed crowd.

To Ms. Kunis I say, keep doing what you're doing. Because, whether you believe it or not, you are "It."

"Clueless" Trio: "It" Girls 16 Years Later

Something pretty major happened on this day, July 19, in 1995: one of the most iconic movies of the '90s — and my personal favorite movie of all time — Clueless was released.

It's hard to believe the movie is now 16 years old, as it still seems as relevant as it was upon its debut. In addition to being culturally significant, full of timeless catchphrases and so funny that it still makes me laugh after seeing it approximately 528 times (just a rough estimate), Clueless is a perfect fashion inspiration. In fact, upon its release, Women's Wear Daily called it the fashion movie of the year.

Although style has certainly transformed since 1995, Cher, Dionne and Tai were truly "It" Girls of their time, and their impact has allowed them to still hold the title today. In an era were grunge took precedence, the movie's leading ladies modeled outfits that were fresh and trend-setting. A few of the more memorable pieces included mini skirts, babydoll dresses, sheer blouses, over-the-knee socks, platform shoes and outlandish accessories, including mini-backpacks and an array of hats. And, who could forget the little white Calvin Klein dress Cher's father was not having and the Alaïa Cher rocked at the Val party.

Following is an ode to my favorite "It" Girls of the '90s. And I still wish I had Cher's computer-powered outfit generator. Genius.

Mila Kunis + Justin Timberlake Cover ELLE

I love her as Jackie, I love her as Meg, I love her as Lily and I absolutely die for her as a Glitter Hair Barbie-lover. Simply put: I adore Mila Kunis.

In an already elite group of "It" Girls, Mila is a true standout. In addition to talent, stunning looks and a genuine, down-to-earth nature that almost makes you forget she's a megastar, her "It" factor is off the charts. (It must also be noted that she is a Leo, just like my bestie. No wonder I am so drawn to her!)

Currently, Mila is promoting her latest film, Friends with Benefits. Although many are convinced the movie is a clone of her Black Swan counterpart Natalie Portman's No Strings Attached, I am excited to see Mila on the big-screen again.

Puppy Love

A true "It" Girl has an array of accessories: designer shades, Louboutins, a Chanel bag (or 20) and, of course, a sprinkling of diamonds, just to name a few.

But if diamonds are a girl's best friend, tail-wagging pups are a very close runner-up. As the "It" Girl grabs her coffee, jets through the airport or enjoys a stroll during some rare downtime, you'll often see a leash in the hand that is not holding the very expensive handbag in the other.

Last year, Ashley Olsen adopted an adorable French Bulldog, which just so happens to be one of my favorite breeds. (Those irresistible faces get me squealing every time.) She has been spotted toting her furry friend around ever since, including yesterday as she stepped out of her NYC hotel.

Once upon a time, Rachel Bilson was the "It" Girl of The O.C. as Summer Roberts. While I'm still a little envious she frolicked around with Adam Brody on- and off-screen, I've grown to really respect her for her role in various fashion-related ventures.

Rachel has had her fair share of exposure in the fashion community, rooting from her always chic and sophisticated personal style. Her collaboration with DKNY resulted in the Edie Rose clothing line and home collection, and I always love reading her advice column for InStyle. She currently appears in an advertising campaign for Magnum ice cream, directed by the one and only Karl Lagerfeld — you can't get much bigger than that.

In 2010, Rachel was announced as the style director of Sunglass Hut, and it seems plans for this partnership have gotten even bigger. WWD reported this week that Rachel's role is now global, extending to the U.K., China, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, China and the Philippines. This worldwide push for the brand will include in-store imagery featuring Ms. Bilson, as well as the re-launch of her Sunglass Hut blog.

WWD shared a sneak-peek at the ads, in which Rachel dons French Connection's Anna Lace Dress, sheer tights and Brian Atwood booties.

Although this look is perfect for fall, it can also be modified to work for summertime.

I love the idea of contrasting the lace dress ($69, Asos) with these leather gladiator sandals ($70, Steve Madden), a skinny black belt ($105, Rag and Bone) and this House of Harlow statement necklace to top it all off ($75, Akira). The result is an adorable "It" Girl ensemble that blends one of my favorite combinations, lace + leather.

Blake Rocks Missoni on The Tonight Show

While I was "oh na na"in' at Rihanna's concert Wednesday at the United Center (which, of course, was amazeballs), my favorite "It" Girl Blake Lively appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. She chatted about Green Lantern, how she sabotaged Ryan Reynolds' diet on-set, and, of course, fashion. While many doubt her, she insists she doesn't have a stylist, and chooses her own clothes.

Regarding personal style, she told Jay, "I think style is such an expression of yourself. It's the way you present yourself every day to the world. When you don't have a conversation with people, this is the conversation that you're having." Love it.

The dress, which is from Missoni's Fall 2011 collection, was effortlessly beautiful. But my favorite part was undoubtedly her brightly-colored Lorraine Schwartz jewels paired with Christian Louboutin 8 Mignons sandals. As my bestie would say, J'ADORE!

Style Spotlight: Rihanna

When it comes to "It" Girls in the pop music universe, Barbadian beauty Rihanna undoubtedly tops my list. She embodies every attribute declared in my "It" Girl philosophy, and I especially love her style and fiery, fun personality. (I fully intend to make a glossy, coffee table book with her best tweets.)

When she burst onto the scene in 2005, I'm not sure anyone could have predicted what a massive star she would become. Today, she ties Janet Jackson with the most #1 singles on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, only to sit behind Mariah Carey, Madonna and Whitney Houston. That's pretty — as Rih would say — majah.

As her music has evolved, her personal style has not only transformed, but catapulted her into true fashion icon status. She has gone from baggy jeans + crop top combos and babydoll dresses to couture gowns and blazers paired with leather leggings.

Rihanna recently described her style evolution to Interview magazine: "In the beginning of my career, I didn't have a lot of input in what I wore and stuff, but it was a very, innocent, girly look. Then after we put out Good Girl Gone Bad, it kind of became a darker, edgier look, and then it got even edgier on the last album [Rated R]. And now... I like stuff that's easy without trying too hard. I don't like stuff that's too contrived."

Today, I'd best describe her style as unconventional, eclectic, polished and a perfect balance of masculine & feminine. It was difficult to narrow it down, but I've highlighted some of my favorite looks below.

It is always a thrill to see what the stars bring for red carpet events. Sometimes it's good and brings on swoons, sometimes it's cringe-worthy bad and sometimes, it's really, really, really ugly.

In the past couple of days, we had two great red carpet opportunities, with the 2011 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday and the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards tonight. After flipping through all of the photos, I compiled my top 5 favorite looks:

Ashley Olsen in The Row & Manolo Blahnik & Mary-Kate Olsen in Chanel, The Row & Louis VuittonIs it considered cheating to count two "It" Girls as one? I can't choose! These ladies have come such a long way, and truly must be credited for establishing and owning their signature styles. Ashley has been giving me a very Carrie Bradshaw vibe these days (which I love), and Mary-Kate clearly knows that a Chanel jacket is always a winner.

Emma Stone in Bottega VenetaI love Emma Stone, I love that she dyed her hair red again and I love this ensemble on her. It's charming, flattering and she gets bonus points for those copper red pumps.

Miranda Kerr in Michael KorsThis woman recently had a baby. MIND BLOWN. Really though, this black, cut-out gown is simply ravishing.

Leighton Meester in BalmainThis one was a no-brainer: Leighton looks beautiful, and it's BALMAIN. (It should be noted early on that I am a huge, huge fan of Balmain. One day, I hope to have an entire wardrobe of studded jackets and dresses.)

Hana Soukupová in MarchesaMarchesa also tops my list of favorite designers, and immediately upon seeing Hana in this gown from the Spring 2011 ready-to-wear collection, I nearly started a solo applause. The asymmetrical lines, the ruffle details...I'm in love.

Blake Lively Goes 'Glamour'ous

It makes perfect sense that my first content post features Blake Lively, quite possibly my favorite "It" Girl on the map. As Blake made a splash on to the Hollywood scene as Gossip Girl's dazzling-yet-poor decision-making Serena van der Woodsen, she quickly grabbed my attention, thanks to her amazing red carpet style and persona that is part old Hollywood, part girl-next-door. (If only all of us girls-next-door could snag Leo DiCaprio...)

Although she is amidst a bit of a scandal (not uncommon for an "It" Girl) regarding some alleged camera phone photos, there is also a buzz about her upcoming role in this summer's Green Lantern. Blake graces the cover of Glamour's July issue and talks about the film, her personal style and role as the face of Chanel. The photos are absolutely stunning — two sets of Louboutin pumps? Bestill my heart!

Welcome to The "It" Girl

R. Kipling once wrote, "It isn't beauty, so to speak, nor good talk necessarily. It's just 'It.'"

In today's celebrity-saturated society, we are flooded with pop icons in every form of media. While Hollywood's leading ladies certainly are beautiful, talented and interesting, some stars shine brighter than others; particularly, some starlets all have an extra "something" that makes them stand out.

The concept of the "It" Girl is not a new one, rooting back to R. Kipling's remarks in 1904, and perhaps even more famously with the 1927 film, It. Today's modern "It" Girl consists of a variety of ingredients beyond beauty. She is fashion-forward, charming, unapologetically ambitious, confident, effortlessly cool and absolutely captivating.

Those who know me best are aware that my most famous interests and areas of expertise lie in the realms of celebrities and fashion. Through this blog, I look forward to merging these interests and celebrating the modern "It" Girls — from glamorous actresses like Blake Lively and Mila Kunis, to pop stars such as Rihanna, and the ubiquitous designers of Marchesa, Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig.
